kaepernick and the many other athletes who are living up to their responsibility to this country by using their first amendment right have seen a backlash. some athletes have lost endorsement deals. the washington spirit women’s soccer team played the national anthem before allowing the teams onto the field to prevent megan rapinoe from taking a knee publicly in solidarity with the movement. despite the backlash, the boos, the bullshit of corporate bullying these men and women are doing what they think is right.
“i wish people would be as outraged about the murders that are happening in the streets as they are about a protest” kaepernick said.
