Maslow's Hiearchy of Needs

In 1943, Abraham Maslow published a paper called “A Theory Of Human Behavior.” The theory suggests that an individual must obtain their lowest level “needs” before they can be motivated to achieve the secondary level and so on. The pyramid is usually pictured with straight sides and individual, solid tiers. For this illustration however, the individual needs within each tier are circles to exhibit how important each of them are to maintaining the integrity of the pyramid. Imagine what would happen should only one of the circles be removed. The body cannot live without some of the bottom tier psychological needs. Remove one, and the ones above suffer directly, possibly toppling the structure altogether.
