front of her house. Jerry burst into tears.
It was an invitation for him to spend Christmas with her family.
Jerry accepted the invitation and was ready to go by 6:00 that
evening. He loaded up his car with Christmas presents and holiday
cheer. He drove across town to the rich people's side and knocked
on the door.
"Jerry we're so glad you could make it!" Her Mom said as she
opened the door and helped set his presents under the beautifully lit
Christmas tree.
Jerry stared at the place in awe. It was more beautiful on the
inside than staring in from the outside. He turned around to stare
out the picture window to the sad, little boy on the curb in his
imagination. A small tear stung at the corner of Jerry's eye.
Charlotte walked up to him and squeezed his shoulder.
"It's so nice of you to finally join us, Jerry! Merry Christmas, my
friend."
This story is a non-fiction story about a friend of mine. He told it
to me when he came in the store that Christmas Eve in tears of joy,
after spending time with his new found family.
