Speculative buying , Chinese buying and excellent export numbers have kept the market firm . It is believed that China will auction off its stocks sometime in March . The quality is not good , so they may blend it with U . S . cotton . Recent reports also show that China ’ s consumption is higher than its production . Therefore , it should continue importing cotton to fulfill its demand .

The Texas Boll Weevil Foundation has been having meetings discussing new ways to collect assessments . At this time , a $ 3.00 per bale fee will be collected by cotton warehouses when cotton is invoiced . Therefore , you will not be asked to pay a bill directly from the Foundation . The warehouses are planning on possibly adding this $ 3.00 per bale fee to your receiving charges .
