Summer Camp is Evangelism.
It is that Simple.
I
have been involved with summer camp ministry for more than 18
years in various capacities. I served as a summer camp staff back in
college, as a camp pastor early
in my career, and now, for the
past 7 years, as a camp director.
There is really nothing else like
it. Camp provides a safe place
for young people to make new
friends, connect with Christian
camp staff and experience God
in nature. Campers spend the
week unplugged from their
electronics and plugged into Jesus.
This past summer was no different. There were 178 decisions made for
baptism through three weeks of
youth camp and three weeks of
family camp. In addition, hundreds
of decisions were made for Bible
study and recommitment. Praise
the Lord!
Our family camps are just as
powerful. It is such a blessing to
see families come together to not
only play together, but to worship
and fellowship. For many families,
Indian Creek Camp has become a lasting memory for generations. They look
forward to the fun activities and
the spiritual renewal.
Finally, summer camp is one of
the greatest places for young adults
to find their calling to ministry.
Summer camp staff are trained and
tasked with major responsibilities
each summer. As a camp director,
it is always a huge privilege to see
them grow and develop as leaders.
As you may already know, many
