Dr. Bob Morrison R o w l e t t S t r o n g Katie Casey Junior, Rowlett High School Seeing the community’s reaction to the tornado is very overwhelming. I have teared up seeing volunteers helping, passing out food and coming to donate clothes and other necessities. It makes my family and I feel very loved and proud to live in Rowlett. Maresa Ramos Bailey Principal, Lakeview Centennial High School The community support we witnessed during Lakeview’s donation drive was phenomenal. We had students, parents, district staff, families, alumni and community members show a tremendous outpouring for those affected by the tornado. #WeAreLC Lt. Pedro Barineau Public Information Officer, Garland Police Department As Garland’s PIO, I was grateful to be an instrumental part in helping the community know what was going on around them and explaining what the City was doing to help. We worked to provide information on how tornado victims could get assistance, and how community members could provide volunteer services or make donations. connected Monica Allen Rev. Dr. Jan Davis Parent, Toler Elementary School Senior Pastor, First Rowlett United Methodist Church The abundant generosity of Garland and its surrounding cities has been overflowing. My family and I were present during the unfortunate disaster and there was no hesitation from both neighbors and first responders to assist those in distress. Thank you! It was wonderful to see the people of Rowlett come together in countless ways and respond to the devastation. Our church hosted the Community Emergency Response Teams and cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner every day for the emergency responders and volunteers. As Rowlett rebuilds, we will provide ongoing services and post-trauma counseling information.
