STEAMposium delivers jam-packed fun , learning

Hundreds of students , parents , GISD employees and community members gathered to celebrate innovation at the second-annual STEAMposium . Interactive exhibits , student showcases and enlightening seminars enthralled visitors at the Curtis Culwell Center this April .
A culmination of yearlong efforts , STEAMletes ’ engineering challenges , VEX Robotics skills , Maker Creator inventions and science fair projects were on display . Coding and chess contests , the Dallas Stars Hockey Scholar course , bubble soccer and a
gaming truck were also featured .
Given at the end of the day , awards included teacher grants , student scholarships and competition winners . The overall honor and STEAMly Cup went to Area 7 . Through a communal effort , Armstrong , Abbett , Back , Liberty Grove and Sewell elementary schools , as well as Hudson Middle School , Memorial Pathway
Academy , Pathfinder Achievement Center and Sachse High School , snagged the traveling trophy . For a full list of awards , scan the QR code .
