The first-ever Early Childhood Expo invites Pre-K and kindergarten families to explore opportunities to customize education and fast track enrollment. Salsa, Sabor y Salud exposed families to fun physical activities, healthy recipes and wellness tips. Participants also snagged a free three-month YMCA membership. celebrated 30 successful years with former staff, students and principals at an anniversary bash this month. 5 Several high schoolers will represent GISD at national competitions this summer after excelling at state and local contests. Sixty-six GISD facilities recently earned Energy Star Certification for their conservation efforts—the most of any school organization in Texas. 4 Luna Elementary School 7 Two Garland ISD seniors will soon be on their way to college with a generous helping hand in tow. Garland High School student Martha Zavala and North Garland High School student Emerly Lopez were both named 2016 Dell Scholars, a title that comes with a $20,000 scholarship, a laptop and ongoing educational support. connected
