Free meals for all will become the new
norm at 23 Garland ISD campuses this year. The
schools qualified to implement the Community Eligibility
Provision, a federal measure that aims to ensure each student
receives nutritious meals. Under this service option, campuses will
offer breakfast and lunch at no charge to all students without requiring a
completed household application. See a list of the participating schools on
the district website at bit.ly/gisdCEP.
Students who pay full price for meals at all other campuses should note that the
cost of lunch will increase to $2.85, a 10-cent difference. Breakfast prices will remain
the same.
