GAMESA
PARTNERSHIP
IN MAY THE COLLEGE
ANNOUNCED A
PARTNERSHIP WITH
RENEWABLE ENERGY
FIRM GAMESA THAT
WILL SEE THE COMPANY
OFFER EMPLOYMENT
OPPORTUNITIES TO OUR
HN GRADUATES.
Gamesa recently employed
two of our graduates and
were looking to increase
the number going forward.
They have now agreed to
offer up to 10 full time roles
to suitable candidates from
our most recent wind turbine
technician courses.
The emerging partnership
will also see Gamesa
support us in delivering a
new transitional training
course for experienced local
engineers to retrain as wind
turbine technicians.

We have applied for funding
from Skills Development
Scotland to facilitate the
course, which would be
supplemented by Gamesa
through both a financial and
an ‘in kind’ contribution to
support candidates.
A stakeholder briefing at
our Kilmarnock campus was
attended by partner bodies
such as East Ayrshire Council,
Energy Skills Partnership,
Skills Development Scotland,
the Department of Work
and Pensions and Ayrshire
Chamber of Commerce, as
well as Alan Brown MP and
Provost Jim Todd.
