Branding Materials
The marketing team has placed key branding
materials on the Intranet. These include Staff Brand
Guidelines booklet, jpeg of our logo, document front
cover, poster templates and powerpoint templates.
There is also a document called Tone of Voice; the
purpose of these guidelines is to standardise the
format, presentation and style of written materials
for Ayrshire College.
They are designed for anyone who is writing
or editing materials on behalf of the college –
everything from course materials, to poster
campaigns and letters. The house style is not meant
to be inflexible – variation is needed for special
purposes and to suit your needs. The guidelines
should cover the principles that normally apply.

The exclusion zones we have created (below) must
always be respected.
The brand must be placed within an area of clear
space to ensure that it does not clash with other
graphic elements. Where possible, please also avoid
using the logo on visually cluttered backgrounds.
The exclusion zone is derived from the value of A - the
height of the caps within the logo. This creates a clear
border around the identity. This rule should be used at
all times of brand application.
RecyCle Day
Thursday 20 June was our recycling day for all unwanted/obsolete items or old
documents in your office. Estates have organised extra skips, bins, recycle bags.
Please ensure that you recycle any branded goods with Ayr, James Watt or
Kilmarnock College branding; such as leaflets, old prospectuses, posters
and signs. For documents, check retention dates to ensure you are keeping
important information for the required period of time.
Confidential information should be shredded.
