Medal wins for para-athletes
TWO OF OUR SPORT AND FITNESS STUDENTS HAVE RETURNED FROM MAJOR SPORTING EVENTS WITH GOLD MEDALS .
Deirdre Nagle
Deirdrie won gold and silver medals in Para Badminton at the Irish 4 Nations in Belfast .
Deirdre achieved gold in the Combined Standing Category of the women ’ s doubles event alongside Irish partner Emma Farham , and won silver for her efforts in the Short Statured Category in the singles category .
Kayleigh Haggo
Kayleigh competed in the National British Para Swimming Championships in Manchester . Kayleigh ’ s events were the 100m breaststroke , 50m backstroke , 50m freestyle and 200m freestyle . She achieved four gold medals and two personal bests .
Kayleigh is now on target to meet the requirements to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics .
