FOUNDATION APPRENTICESHIPS

FRASER WALLACE

FOUNDATION APPRENTICESHIPS WERE INTRODUCED BY THE COLLEGE THIS YEAR FOR S5 PUPILS .
They are two-year courses for S5-S6 pupils that combine one year of theory-based learning with a further year focused on work experience within a company .

I am very excited to get to work with a company who will get to meet me , and know my name , before I have even applied for a job .

Fraser Wallace , a fifth year pupil at Greenwood Academy , spoke to us about how his Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering is going .
He said “ Doing the course works wells with me being at school . I don ’ t have to keep my options to just my Highers , I can do a college course at the same time . It also means I can reduce the amount of time it will take me to get the job I want .
