Access and Inclusion

Project SEARCH is recruiting …

Project SEARCH is an exciting project giving young people with learning disabilities and / or those on the autistic spectrum the opportunity of hands-on experience in the workplace .
It was first launched at University Hospital Crosshouse on Tuesday 17 December 2013 . We are now into the fifth year of the programme and our new interns started the programme on Monday 28th August 2016 .
Project SEARCH , which originated in Cincinnati seventeen years ago , involves a partnership between a host business , education services and adult supported employment . The latest collaboration between ourselves , NHS Ayrshire & Arran and East Ayrshire Council will help
17-24 year olds in East Ayrshire build skills for employment .
Through a combination of classroom sessions and hands-on work placements at University Hospital Crosshouse , the project will prepare students to find a job .
During their placement , the interns are supported by tutors from the College and a Job Coach from East Ayrshire Council .
To apply for the next intake , application forms are available from Project SEARCH on 01563 826245 or by emailing angela . glen @ ayrshire . ac . uk or elaine . wright @ east-ayrshire . gov . uk .
