NEW MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING ADVISOR POSITION CREATED

We are delighted to announce an exciting new position that we are establishing in partnership with the three Health and Social Care Partnerships in Ayrshire .
A new Student Wellbeing Advisor will join the College to provide mental health support across all of our campuses , and improve the knowledge of mental health issues amongst staff and students .
We have over 13,000 students studying at our main campuses in Ayr , Kilmarnock and Kilwinning , as well our satellite sites , The Skills Centre of Excellence in Irvine and Nethermains in Kilwinning .
Improving the health and life chances of students and staff is a key priority for us , and the Mental Health and Wellbeing Advisor will support this objective .

Inclusive Learning

Supported learning

Students on our Connect to Enterprise course helped to create a safe and secure environment for hedgehogs .
Supported Learning students from our Ayr Campus learned about environmental issues on their course and realised that hedgehogs are at their most vulnerable in the coldest months .
They built two hedgehog houses in the woodland area outside their campus .
This project inspired the students to raise money for a local hedgehog charity . In keeping with the theme of saving the environment , the class recycled old books to make book hedgehogs .
If a student on any course feels they need additional support , they can contact our Inclusive Learning Team .
Help is available for the following :
• Specific learning difficulty ( e . g . dyslexia , dyspraxia )
