BUSINESS RENT TAX Cut / reduce the business rent sales tax - Florida Realtors ® is leading a coalition of business trade associations in advocating for the successful passage of a bill that will reduce the amount of sales tax that businesses must pay to rent commercial space .
PROPERTY TAX CAP ON SECOND HOMES / BUSINESSES Support a permanent property tax cap on second homes and commercial property - Florida Realtors ® is leading a coalition of business trade associations in advocating for the successful passage of a bill that will place this amendment on the 2018 General election ballot , giving voters the chance to permanently renew the 10 percent cap for all non-homestead properties .
AFFORDABLE HOUSING Increase funding of the housing trust fund programs - In 2017 , there will be nearly $ 300 million available for affordable housing . Florida Realtors ® will encourage lawmakers to maximize the opportunities available through these funds so they can assist thousands of Floridians who have no place to call home .
WATER POLICY Support multiple initiatives to promote clean water supply - Florida Realtors ® is passionate about water issues , and has adopted a motion to promote and support state legislation , initiatives and funding sources that would promote clean water supply .
ESTOPPEL CERTIFICATE FEES Cap the fees charged by community associations for estoppel certificates - Florida Realtors ® is working to restore fairness and predictability to real estate transactions by supporting legislation that caps estoppel certificate fees .
ASSIGNMENT OF BENEFITS Reform is needed to stop the abuses that raise everyone ’ s insurance rates - Florida Realtors ® supports legislation that would implement assignment of benefits reforms aimed at reducing the fraud and abuse associated with non-storm-related water and roofing claims .
