Q: Tell us a funny or crazy story about your real estate career. Showing homes in Whiskey Creek to out of town clients a few years ago and out in the back yard a big black racer snake came out in front of me. All of a sudden I started screaming and ran inside the pool cage. They ran and followed me. We were all standing inside laughing and talking about snakes and how afraid I was. I wound up selling them that house. It became the big joke throughout the transaction. When we closed on the house the buyers gave me a gift. Guess what it was... a rubber snake! Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Selling real estate here in Southwest Florida! We asked Josh about his plans for the year and how he’ll continue that work into his year as President in 2019. Donna’s theme for 2018 is “Taking It to the Next Level” across several aspects of the Association. She spent 2017 perfecting her plan for how that will co me to fruition in 2018. Part of her vision is teamwork, and she will get a lot of support from 2018 President-Elect Josh Burdine of RockStar Realty. Q: As President-Elect, how do you plan to use 2018 as preparation for your role as 2019 President? I plan to be a student of the Presidency role, taking in all the information I can and understanding the operational processes in depth. I’m going to be following Donna very closely this year and making sure I understand all of the aspects of our 7,000+ member association. Donna is an awesome leader and she has already done so much to incorporate me into the process. I’m very excited to support her in leadership this year! Q: What are your personal goals for 2018 as President-Elect? My personal goals for the President-Elect position are about the members and supporting President Guido. I want to see our members achieve more success and find greater financial reward in 2018. I think this can be done by continuing to bring education to the members on important market sensitive topics and bringing more benefits that can directly impact our successes in real estate. I want to make sure President Guido can achieve her goals in presidency and I plan to do whatever I can to ensure that happens. Q: 2019 will be here before we know it. What are your hopes for the leadership team this year, since they will lead into your year? One thing we can all agree on is that time stops for no one and it passes quickly. I think we have a top notch group of professionals leading our organization in 2018 and my hope for our leadership team is that we can work together to continue bringing more value and resources to the members in as timely a manner as possible. Josh Burdine will be installed as Association President at the end of this year. RPCRA.ORG | JAN/FEB 2018 13
