Regular Features

Not got time to read the Big Read this month?

Why not check out our Quick Read: Teaching Empathy for a Better World, where Francesca Sanna (who we also included in last year’s Global Library list on GC!) details her personal narrative of her experiences facilitating workshops for children on the subjects of empathy and understanding.

November's Featured Courses

-

This month we have two featured courses for you to try.

Handling Difficult Conversations aims to provide you with the skills required for those awkward moments where conversation proves to be quite difficult. Whether it’s a colleague with a different opinion, or a student who simply does not want to interact with you, this quick course will provide you with the necessary skills to remain calm, demonstrate empathy and get the most of out of every conversation you encounter. Remember our focus this month is on empathy so try to approach that difficult conversation thinking about their point of view and not your own.

Emotional Intelligence is the second of this month’s featured courses. A large part of demonstrating empathy comes from understanding the emotions of others.

This course aims to break down the four elements of emotional intelligence for you and to boost your emotional intelligence. We understand that an international classroom can be a minefield of emotion, and we want you to be able to understand your students on not only an academic level but an emotional level, too.

Check out the trailer above, and then check out what other Workplace & Personal Skills courses we have available on NAU.
