Since joining NAE I’ve had the privilege of both participating in the Senior Leadership and delivering our Middle Leadership Programmes. Like so many delegates I believe the programmes to be the best professional, and personal, development I have ever had. I have been challenged and nudged myself out of my comfort zone building my leadership skills along the way. Nearly 2 years on from starting the Senior Leader Programme (alongside my wonderful fellow graduate Mary!) I am still applying what I learned about myself and how to be the best leader I can be.

So, are the Leadership Programmes for you?

If you are a Middle or Senior Leader seeking to develop your leadership and enhance your impact on others, then yes! The programme builds your understanding of yourself alongside leadership theory that you then put into practice. Collaboration is at the heart of the programmes as you will work with a group of colleagues to support and challenge each other through a blend of theory, action and reflection with a series of monthly online and face to face activities during two residentials. You will also be challenged to bring all of your learning together by leading a change in your setting and documenting your findings to be shared with the wider NAE family.

If you want to apply you can find further information via the Leadership Programme area on NAU or you can email [email protected] or [email protected]. Applications need to be supported by your line manager or Principal and are due by 30th September. Good luck with your application and I hope to work with you on the next stage of your leadership journey.

Sarah Perkins, our newly appointed teaching fellow from The Village School, has started a new and exciting vlog series for NAU. Sarah will interview fellow teachers at NAU to talk about collaboration and student engagement, giving you the opportunity to get to know people across our network of schools. We’ll be featuring a video from Sarah regularly in this newsletter.

Check out the first set of videos below, and feel free to head on over to our Music Community’s discussion forum [https://university.nae.school/mod/forum/view.php?id=1741] to ask any questions you may have, or to provide Sarah with some feedback!
