College News Making Your Business Our Business Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP, Heather Dunk - Principal, Willie Mackie - Chair of Board of Management, Dr Sarah Peers - Director of STEM Foundation WE HOSTED OUR ANNUAL BUSINESS DINNER ON TUESDAY 7 NOVEMBER IN OUR SALT & BARREL TRAINING RESTAURANT AT OUR KILMARNOCK CAMPUS. The event, which had a focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), aimed to encourage new employers to work with us and to enthuse those who already engage to do more. Engineering, production and construction companies heard how we can support their organisations – particularly through the apprenticeship family. Higher Education and Science, and outlined the Scottish Government’s new STEM strategy. Fraser Wallace, one of our Engineering Foundation Apprentices spoke to guests about his vital hands-on experience with GE Caledonian. Tracy Govan, a Mechanical Engineering Modern Apprentice with GE Caledonian spoke about her time as an apprentice.
