students from the Ayr and Kilwinning
campuses recently took part in a work
placement programme at University Hospital
Crosshouse. “I really enjoyed my time on placement
and was grateful for the help and support
I received. It was good to get an insight
into the role of a clerical officer within NHS
Scotland and I am happy to say that I achieved
my goal of becoming a member of the
Medical Records team.”
The placement involved shadowing existing
NHS staff members and carrying out real
tasks involving medical records for two days a
week over an eight-week period.
The partnership has been a huge success,
with four students progressing onto full-
