16 London A Street Feast for PRs CommsCon by Cision took the PR message to Street Feast’s Hawker House Client: Cision Event: CommsCon rief CommsCon by Cision is a PR industry conference and networking event. The client wanted a large, cool and versatile venue that didn’t feel too corporate whilE still being able to accommodate and appeal to business professionals. Having previously held a team Christmas party at Hawker House last year, Cision knew the venue in Canada Water would be a perfect fit. Objective The aim of the event was to bring together PR professionals for a day of discussion, knowledge sharing and learning. The day was split into keynote speeches, panel events and debates with some of the industry’s biggest names coming together to share their opinions and expertise, including Craig Oliver, former director of politics and communications for David Cameron, LADBible, Daily Mirror and Pink News, as well as Venue: Hawker House Number of guests: 900+ PR representatives from KFC, Gumtree and HSBC. Execution The event was made up of a range of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and awards ceremony and social events so the client utilised lots of the unique spaces Hawker House has to offer, including the Other Room, the Mezzanine, The Deck, The Big Room, Milk & Honey bar. Also, a stretch tent was erected in the outdoor space, in front of the Other Room, to provide an additional undercover area for socialising and registration. The conference was hosted in ‘The Big Room’ which was set-up to seat 550. The client also utilised the venue’s free Wi-Fi, complimentary conference furniture and top of the range AV, lighting and large screen. Food and drink were served in the Other Room, a large indoor space with Street Food traders, large feasting table www.conference-news.co.uk and festoon lights. Guests arrived at a buffet breakfast of pastries, muffins and yoghurt pots from Street Feast trader Chin Chin Labs’ Soho-based bakery. Client testimonial “Hawker House is one of the most unique venues I have worked with for a corporate event. From planning to execution, the team always went the extra mile to make sure the event was a success. Our delegates loved the venue, one said it’s by far the coolest spot they’ve been to for a PR event.”
