The annual ISKSAA Congress was hosted at Cloth Hall Court in Leeds Beckett University and saw surgeons travel from across the globe to discuss the practice of arthroscopy, knee and shoulder surgery, joint replacement surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine over two days. ISKSAA was looking for a unique alternative to London and took a series of site visits with ConferenceLeeds, the conference bureau for Leeds, prior to choosing their destination. Once they had chosen the city, ConferenceLeeds supported with venue choice; using their expertise and knowledge of the events’ requirements to select Cloth Hall Court at Leeds Beckett University, which became an ideal venue not only due to it’s facilities but also because of its secure academic roots. The conference took the form of plenary workshops, exhibitions and live surgeries, which were held in multiple workshops across the venue. Delegates were able to experience planned live surgeries from across the world, including America and Europe, covering a number of surgical procedures. www.conference-news.co.uk Delegates were able to share knowledge, hear about new opportunities for working, and to discuss topics including medicine, new surgical developments and patient aftercare. The main objective of the conference was to demonstrate Leeds’ strength as a unique alternative to London, and the well-connected nature of the city combined with the strength in the healthcare sector helped to ensure a successful event for the delegates, organisers and the wider city. This event also highlighted Leeds’ strong connection with India, following an Inward Investment mission to the UK in March 2018 as a result of a partnership between Leeds City Council and Yorkshire Asian Business Association (YABA).
