Milton Keynes
Agency
insights
reative agency Imagine
has won a reputation for
creativity and high-level
delivery and creative
events manager Alice Harris tells
CN: “Milton Keynes has a fantastic
range of businesses who are looking
to provide staff and customers with
showstopping events locally. The
draw of staying local to Milton
Keynes for ease of access for staff
and with great access links is
matched by the varied group of
venues all on our doorstep. This
allows more in customers budgets
once they have secured a venue to
really turn their event in to
something extra special.
“We loved turning a blank canvas
like Millbrook in to a full Las Vegas
experience for one night for ID
Medical’s Christmas party, and we
jumped at the opportunity to break
the mould of Awards dinners when
challenged by the Women Leader
Awards to create something really
special for them at the Hilton
Doubletree.
“Our team is well placed to guide
our clients as the trends veer away
from an event to creating immersive
experiences for clients from the
moment they enter the venue.
“We have a hugely diverse team
who draw on a wealth of experience;
from event managers to costume

design, the West End Stage, prop
creation and AV technicians and
project managers. We build long
standing relationships with clients,
getting to know their needs well
which allows us to react when they
come to us with any challenge.”
Jonny Fulton is production director
at FoxWyle, an agency which
recently produced an awards show
for 500 guests in the ballroom at
the Doubletree Stadium MK, as well
as several smaller meetings in the
players’ suite.
He tells CN: From a production
view the venue is very helpful. The
ballroom is a large space with a high
ceiling. The room is a white walled
rectangle once you shut the blinds,
which means that it is easy to create
different looks to suit the event.
“Over the years we have also
worked regularly in the Jurys Inn for
charity dinners and conferences.
There the main room is large
enough for around 300 delegates
with a rear projection set and with a
high ceiling you can fit a large
screen.
“If you are interested in something
a little off-piste then the Snozone is
worth considering. We have been
working with the venue to create a
private space for a conference with
a view of the slope.
“Working in MK in general means
being close to London, although the
price for production and staff is on a
par with London.
“There are several advantages of
working in Milton Keynes.
“Getting to MK is simple with the
M1 Junction 14 being five minutes
from Central MK, allowing easy
access both north and south.
“There is ample parking around
the whole of MK with a lot of the
venues offering free parking.
“Milton Keynes Central station is
within walking distance of several
venues and a short taxi ride to the
rest, with regular trains to and from
London Euston in just under 30
minutes, and it takes around 90
minutes getting to Manchester, so
coming to Milton Keynes is fairly
simple.”
