35 A Day in the Life Matt Culverh use CEO, TEN6 Creative and CN30 under Thirty winner epending how late conference calls ran into the night before, I’m either at the gym by 7.30am or asleep till 9am; I decided that our office hours should be 10.30-6.30 last year which works perfectly for me. I will have probably checked my social media at the gym, so the Tube is my time to catch-up on things across LinkedIn and what has happened in the news overnight. I will always read the sports headlines, so I can pretend I have a clue when something is no doubt mentioned by the team in the office. Emails, emails, emails – they never seem to end! Having mainly US-based clients, my phone goes crazy overnight (thank God for do not disturb mode). I have a morning catch-up with each of my heads of department and then the working day really seems to start. Various meetings, conference calls and brainstorming sessions about current ongoing projects around the world or “We have a very open plan office here and the Sonos is always on, so motivating myself is never an issue, although I don’t know how appreciated my humming and singing is.” www.conference-news.co.uk discussing a recent site visit and what we have to do next. We use a really useful tool called Monday.com here at TEN6 and this definitely keeps me on my toes. We have a very open plan office here and the Sonos is always on, so motivating myself is never an issue, although I don’t know how appreciated my humming and singing is. I like to spend at least an hour a day on just seeing what’s going on in both the industry and the world. Whether its reading industry publications, checking out the caterer or similar for new venue openings or events happening locally. Some of the most unique venues we have worked in have been found by accident – and long may that continue. I’m usually the last to leave the office if I’m not out with clients in the evening, but either way there is always ice in my freezer and a JD and Diet Coke to wind down with and always an episode of a rubbish TV show that Sky Q has kindly kept for me.
