Seoul Tour a Great Success
O
n 28 August 2015,
family and friends
accompanying
speakers and VIPs of the
International Union of
Phlebology event (Seoul UIP
2015) enjoyed a special tour
sponsored by the city of Seoul
and arranged by the Seoul
Tourism Organisation. The
congress ran from
27-29 August.
The itinerary took
participants on a whirlwind of
activities, including making
kimchi, touring the traditional
streets of Seoul’s Insadong
area, and lunch atop Seoul’s
iconic cityscape viewing
spot, N Seoul Tower. In the
afternoon, participants also
had a chance to experience
a traditional Buddhist Dado
tea ceremony at Jogyesa,
one of Korea’s most famous
temples located right in the
heart of Seoul.
The tour was part of Seoul’s
MICE Tours programme, a
series of customisable tours
that encompass full- and
half-day courses spanning
several different industries and
themes, such as sustainable
energy, transportation,
economy, IT, finance,
shopping, culture, Buddhism,
nightlife and medical tourism.
Participant feedback
on the MICE Tour was
overwhelmingly positive. Tour
participant Galina Lurie from
the United States highlighted
the kimchi-making course as
her favourite part of the tour.
“The tour made me feel like
I was on a vacation with my
close friends, and we made
many great memories during
the programme," she said.
Meeting planners interested
in including a tour for their
event in Seoul should contact
the Seoul Convention
Bureau for more information
regarding eligibility and
availability.
