Camping in the desert Camping in the desert can be done in one of two ways : joining in at an established camp or setting up on your own . Your delegates will be able to enjoy nature at its best , with spectacular sunrises and sunsets and a crystal clear chance to star gaze .
The Empty Quarter , which spans Saudi Arabia , the UAE and forms most of western Oman , is Arabia ’ s largest desert . Camping in the desert will give your delegates a chance to retrace some of the steps of Arabian Sands author and explorer Wilfred Thesiger and Bertram Thomas , the fi rst westerner to cross the desert by foot and camel .

2Desert driving Desert driving , or dune bashing , is one of the most popular activities in the Arabian Peninsula . Delegates can either hire themselves a desert-prepared 4x4 or buggy or hitch a ride with an experienced professional . Some of the dunes are as high as 100m and expert guidance is recommended .

3Camel trekking Think of Arabian history and the fi rst thing that will come to mind are camels . These gentle animals have been the lifeblood of trade and movement for the region for centuries . A camel trek is a great way to give your delegates a fi rst-hand experience of nomadic life and learn about Omani tribes and desert wildlife and visit Bedouin villages . Trails across the desert offer the chance of picnic trips or can form part of a camping trip .
