O man has been established in the tourism and travel market for over 15 years but for a long time has been known mainly as a beach resort destination .
However , a sustained investment programme and astute planning in recent years has seen Oman rocket up the pecking order of preferred destinations for conferences , exhibitions and business travel . It is a country rich in nature , history and culture .
Oman has long been a hub for trade and culture , bridging the gap between India , Asia and East Africa . A proud seafaring tradition endures even today , with the capital Muscat especially a centre for trade , both contemporary and traditional .

Arabic is the offi cial language in Oman but English is widely spoken , and communities from both Asia and Euope are well represented .
With over 3,000km of Indian Ocean coastline providing amazing beaches , mountains rising majestically in the north and east and vast rolling desert in the west , Oman ’ s geography caters for all needs .
