For high-level meetings Morocco has state-of the art conference centres, luxury venues for exclusive events, outdoor options for incentives and a good selection of competitive accommodation. The character of each city is also worth noting, offering a different backdrop to suit the type of event. What advice would you give to planners? Use someone on the ground. Aside from logistics and contracting, local experts can organise activities and itinerary options that planners might not have considered. June, July and August are best avoided for business travellers, as temperatures get quite high and if travelling long-haul and schedules permit, factor in extra time to explore more of what Morocco has to offer. How do you respond to concerns about security? Security is a consideration for many destinations nowadays. Morocco was recently given Level 1 status on the recent US travel advisory system. It’s an issue taken very seriously by our authorities, who have put strong measures in place across all levels. What comment do you hear the most from delegates? Visitors are amazed by the diversity of landscapes and also the way of life. Morocco offers a totally different culture, often far removed from that of many international visitors. Authentic is a word we hear often. How do you see the future of MICE in Morocco? Very optimistic about the sector. We have a unique product, if we can speak of culture and a country’s qualities as a product.
