Star Alliance
The Star Alliance is the oldest of the main
airline partnerships and was founded in 1997.
It has 28 members, including Lufthansa,
Turkish Airlines, Singapore Airlines and United.
It is headquartered in Frankfurt.
The Star Alliance Conventions Plus package
simplifies organising a convention, conference,
exhibition, sports, music or any other event
which will involve more than 500 delegates.
A single agreement allows delegates to book
discounted fares directly through an online
booking tool. Prganisers can also accrue
credits when they book.
There is also a similar product for smaller
meetings of 50 or more delegates travelling
from a range of countries. Star Alliance
Meetings Plus is the product for that.
Delegates that are also part of the members’
frequent flyer programmes, can also earn
points, build status and enjoy rewards with
each flight they take.
