Hotel Showcase Hong Kong hotel showcase Regal Airport Hotel Hong Kong This airport hotel is part of a 21-strong hotel and venue portfolio in Hong Kong and mainland China and has been recognised as the World’s Best Airport Hotel by the UK’s Business Traveller magazine for 10 consecutive years. Directly connected to the passenger terminal of Hong Kong International Airport, the hotel is close to the AsiaWorld-Expo convention centre. It takes under half an hour to get to the central business, finance and shopping district via the Airpor t Express Line (AEL). The hotel has 1,171 guest rooms and suites, all with double-glazed soundproof windows and there are 30 meeting rooms and a 1,050sqm pillar-free grand ballroom, which can accommodate receptions for 1,500 guests. The Executive Conference Centre has 13 meeting rooms with a capacity range of 16 persons in boardroom style to 140 persons in theatre style. All meeting rooms are equipped with extensive business services, AV and wireless broadband. A variety of authentic cuisine is available at six restaurants and bars, and there is an award- winning OM Spa and two swimming pools. The Regal group has a special app for its MICE customers offering real-time polling, as well as a QR code scanning function to facilitate the registration process. A comprehensive meeting package starts at HK$1,380 (US$177) per person per day. Crowne Plaza Kowloon East Over in Kowloon, the 5-star Crowne Plaza has 2,322sqm of meeting space, spread across 11 rooms, the largest of which can accommodate 1,500. The hotel sits in the ‘New’ Central Business District of Hong Kong, comprising of Kwun Tong, Kowloon Bay, and the of Kai Tak Cruise Terminal and is targeting the growing number of MICE planners looking to host their events outside the city centre. The hotel offers Quiet Zone rooms, where outside noise and distractions are kept to a minimum and there’s free Wi-Fi all through. Dining options include The Chef ’s Table and Cielo, as well as the Chinese style Tze Yuet Heen. And you can work off the calories in the onsite fitness centre or outdoor pool. The hotel is located atop MTR Tseung Kwan O station and connects to three shopping malls. It is 20 minutes to Central or Tsim Sha Tsui. The hotel also manages the neighbouring Holiday Inn, which can add 300 rooms if an organiser needs extra. The hotel has high ceilings for Hong Kong and large LCD screens installed. “Being the first international branded upscale hotel in Kowloon East, we offer extensive meetings facilities, including one of the largest pillarless grand ballrooms in Hong Kong, and can accommodate up to 800 people for gala dinner or 1,500 for cocktail receptions, along with a spacious pre-function area with floor to ceiling bay windows on one side also leads to the outdoor patio,” assistant director of sales Alan Tse tells CMW.
