Cultivated Impartiality (Skill 5, Impartiality and Common Humanity) The recognition, through practice, of the arbitrariness and fluidity of categories, such as friends, enemies, strangers, and the way in which people tend to focus more on differences than similarities. Cultural Violence (Skill 9, Appreciating Interdependence) Beliefs, practices, values and other aspects of culture that justify or legitimize direct or structural violence, such as devaluation, stigmatization, prejudice, or ideology.
