partner vendors . Another goal of ours is to put together classes on how to build a CE course and how to successfully network within CAI . We also intend to plan a yearly event which will also include a way to give back to our community . As many of you already know , we recently held a school supplies drive for a local Title 1 school which resulted in a successful initial event for our committee . We plan on hosting other drives such as a Thanksgiving canned food drive and a volunteer day at the Sarasota Humane Society . We are very excited to bring our members new and exciting events to look forward to . This past July marked our inaugural committee meeting where we established our qualifications and timeline of events which we intend to accomplish over the next year .
To be considered a young professional ( and I apologize in advance ) you must be a member of CAI West Florida Chapter and in between the ages of 21-43 . However , we will not ask for identification .
I would like to recognize our fantastic committee and the CAI office for the work that has been done to get this group off the ground and running . Listed below are our current committee members :
• Greg Ruggiero - Bouchard Insurance
• Mat Wilson - AMI-Advanced Management
• Jake Tate - Green Fairways Financial
• Tara Hinze - AMI-Advanced Management
• Jennifer Daly - Hill Law Firm
• John Dougherty - Juniper Landscape Services
• Scott Gilbert -CAI Liaison
• Kayla McKenna - CAI Liaison
I would also like to thank Karin Mayfield and the CAI Board of Directors for having faith in us as we look to grow our group within the CAI membership base .
The Young Professionals started off strong as we originally organized our first annual school supplies drive combined with an NFL “ Kickoff ” event in early September . Unfortunately , Hurricane Irma forced us to cancel our social get together . The storm could not stop us completely however , as we still managed to collect a large amount of school supplies and deliver them to Brentwood Elementary in early October . Our entire committee would like to thank everyone who participated and donated to our drive . Both the kids and teachers were all very excited and grateful .
We have rescheduled our first social event so that our fellow chapter members can have the chance to “ Meet & Greet ” with our committee . It will be held on November 9th from 5:30-7pm at Mandeville Beer Garden in downtown Sarasota . This event is open to all CAI West Florida Chapter members as we want you to have the opportunity to come out , get to know us and hear what we have planned for 2018 .
To kick off 2018 we will be hosting our inaugural membershipwide Cornhole Tournament . So be on the lookout for event information and sponsorship opportunities as we are really looking forward to this and intend to make it an annual activity !
Our committee is very excited to see what we are capable of and how we will grow over the next year . We hope that you all will assist and support our efforts in one way or another .
If you have any input or ideas for our group we encourage you to reach out to us as well . We promise to look up from our smart phones .
