USD 490

El Dorado Public Schools serves students and families in the city of El Dorado and the surrounding rural areas of Butler County with a comprehensive educational program including vocal music, band, orchestra, fine arts, physical education, art, foreign language, and technology. The district has been recognized for excellence in technology and takes pride in providing tools that support acquisition of 21st century skills. Students attend one of four elementary schools, including a Pre-K program and full-day kindergarten, a middle school serving grades 6-8, or El Dorado High School, a 4A school serving students in grades 9-12. The high school has an alternative program as well as a virtual program for students who experience success in a non-traditional setting.

KS Superintendent of the Year 2017

The Kansas School Superintendents’ Association has selected USD 490, El Dorado Superintendent, Sue Givens as the 2017 Kansas Superintendent of the Year. El Dorado Public Schools has been led by Givens since 2007.

New Schools in the Works- El Dorado schools investing in the future

A $36 million bond issue passed on May 24, 2016 to build two new Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade elementary schools and create a District Performing Arts Center. The former middle school will be converted into a District Performing Arts Center.

USD 375

Circle Unified School District 375 stretches across the northwestern quarter of Butler County and extends into Sedgwick County. The district includes housing divisions in northeast Wichita and the communities of Greenwich, Benton, Towanda and Oil Hill (a subdivision of El Dorado). They offer grades K-12th grade with an enrollment, of approximately 1850 students.

Parochial

Victory Christian Academy was established in 2002 and is a K – 12 private Christian school. VCA is a non-denominational Christian school run by a Board of Directors. Parents or legal guardians become members of the organization upon their child’s admittance to the school. Concurrent courses are available for college credit.
