� Rotate crops , mulch , water deeply and regularly to encourage healthy plants , plant disease-resistant varieties and follow other good gardening guidelines to avoid plant disease problems .
� Avoid putting any diseased plant material into a small composting site , Bag and remove diseased plant material from the community garden .
In Klamath County , in California , every dollar generated in agriculture generates another dollar in local economic activity . And , for every 10 agricultural jobs , six others jobs in the community are created .
Storing veggies from your Community Garden this year ….. Try to keep in mind to eat what you store , and don ’ t wait ! Some people try to stretch the life of their storage crops as long as possible , and in doing so can be reluctant to eat them early on . This can really backfire if things start to rot for whatever reason . Even under ideal conditions , crops can go bad at any time . You are better off having enjoyed the last of your veggies in February than you are throwing out half your stash in April .
