Hazard Community Gardens began access to fresh in early 2013 to increase
produce for those in economic need living in Perry County , Kentucky . We currently provide fresh produce to our local homeless shelter and teach gardening classes to at-risk youth . This coming spring , we plan to develop allotment plots at one of our local parks and also start providing resources for community members to plant their own home gardens . It is our hope that through educating our community on basic gardening principles , we can build a healthier and more sustainable future .
