Message from Chairman Aaron Lawlor Dear Lake County Residents, It is an honor to serve as your Lake County Board Chairman. We are working hard to ensure Lake County continues to be a great place to live, work and do business by investing in roads and infrastructure, preserving open space and promoting economic development. Our efforts to expand, improve and maintain our transportation network are critical to maintaining a high quality of life for Lake County families and workers. To accomplish this, we are investing a half billion dollars over the next six years to improve our regional transportation system and working hard to advance the IL Route 53/120 extension project. I’m also proud of the county board’s continued track record of practicing fiscal responsibility. We adhere to a basic budget principle – don’t make short-term decisions. We have a balanced budget, strong reserves and AAA financial rating – the highest credit rating possible. We plan, save and invest wisely to yield long-term results. We use data to drive budget decisions and evaluate our performance. We’re also being more efficient by sharing services with other governments, such as building inspections, police services and joint purchasing. This newsletter provides a snapshot of our budget, and how we are delivering services 24/7 to improve your quality of life. I encourage you to visit our website to learn more, connect with us on social media and sign up for my newsletter. Sincerely, Aaron Lawlor 847-377-2300 Get Connected My E-Newsletter – Text “Lake Lawlor” followed by your email address to 468311, email me at, or visit Get regular updates on road closings, severe weather alerts and other county and forest preserve news and information.
