Single-Family Home Permits in
Less Than 3 Days
Express Permitting, also known as Master Permitting, allows a contractor to
obtain permits for single-family homes in less than three days. The process
requires the contractor to submit a master set of plans for each elevation of the
homes they intend to build. Once those plans are reviewed and approved, they
are assigned a specific identification number. Each time the contractor desires
to build a home with previously-approved plans, they are only required to submit
an electronic permit application, a site-specific survey, assignment letter from
the registered design professional and a notice of commencement. Since the
plans were previously approved, the Plans Examiner will only need to review
the survey and validate the location. These permits are usually issued within 3
days. As of Dec. 2018, 334 express permits have been issued. Approximately 14
express permits are submitted daily.
