TRIUMPH IN QUEEN’S COMMONWEALTH ESSAY COMPETITION, 2017 The theme for 2017 Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition was A Commonwealth for Peace, with topics that challenged young writers to consider peace at every level. Over 12,300 young people from across the Commonwealth entered the Competition. Altogether 16 participants from CIE responded to specific topics, using their own voice and words creatively. They were expected to show originality and flair, linked to sound academic standards and competent use of English as a written language. All entrants received a Certificate of Participation and we also take pride in announcing that 5 were awarded certificates of Gold, Silver and Bronze in both junior and senior categories. The recipients are: 1. Gold Award- Abhay Azariah (CIE 10, senior) 2. Silver Award- a) Janani K (CIE 9, junior) b) Hari Prasad (CIE 7, junior) 3. Bronze Award- a) Angel Ebenezer (CIE 9, senior) and b) Nishtha Vats (CIE 6, junior) Investment of hard efforts resulted in glorious feats.
