A pole bush provides a smooth point of contact for your elastic to
move in and out of the tip of your pole without damage or sticking.
They come in two types, internal and external. Internal fits with
nothing on the outside of your tip but a collar sitting flush with the tip
at the end. An external bush fits on the inside of the tip and over it,
covering a few millimetres of the tip with a sleeve.
