Resumen: El Proceso de Importación de Puerto Cabello es complejo y demanda un control estricto de los pasos en pro a las protecciones ambientales, salud, y economía del país, es por ello que su sistema logístico debe ser bien supervisado y organizado. Es importante la verificación de cada paso ya que cualquier falla o acumulación de trámites causará un embotellamiento, lo cual impacta las operaciones y la fluidez del mismo. En este informe se muestra las características de las instalaciones y un flujograma secuencial de las operaciones para importar además de sugerencias para mejorar el sistema y reducir el período promedio de 12 días para importar una mercancía contenida en un contenedor.

Abstract: The import process is complex and Puerto Cabello demand strict control of the steps towards the environmental protection, health, and economy of the country, which is why its logistics system must be well supervised and organized. It is important to check each step as any failure or cause an accumulation of paperwork traffic jam, which impact the operations and the flow of it. This report shows the characteristics of the facilities and a sequential flow chart for import operations and suggestions for improving the system and reduce the average period of 12 days to import goods contained in a container.
