RESUMEN: Venezuela por poseer una relación comercial con varios países del mundo, donde la actividad de mayor envergadura es la petrolera, se convierte en un país con alto tráfico marítimo. La misión de los puertos es favorecer el desarrollo integral del tejido económico, cultural y social de su área de influencia a través la competitividad en los servicios portuarios, marítimos, multimodales y logísticos alineados con los planes de desarrollo nacional. En Venezuela cerca del 90 % de las mercaderías son importadas o exportadas por vía marítima, a través de las 11 administraciones portuarias existentes, con la participación del Estado Central y de los gobiernos regionales. Se presenta una perspectiva de la logística y Economía del Proceso de Importación en el Puerto de Puerto Cabello así como se plantean algunas realidades.

REALITIES AND PROSPECTS
ABSTRACT: Venezuela for having a business relationship with many countries in the world where the largest activity is the oil becomes a country with high maritime traffic. The mission of the ports is favoring the integral development of the economic, cultural and social development of its area of influence through competitiveness in port services, maritime and multimodal logistics aligned with national development plans. In Venezuela, about 90% of the goods are imported or exported by sea, through the 11 existing port authorities, with the participation of the Central State and regional governments. It presents an overview of the logistics and economics of the import process in the Port of Puerto Cabello and raises some realities.
