Lies. Untruths. Fictions.
Inaccuracies. Alternative facts. Miracle supplements that will turn you into a BEAST. We've all been there, particularly those of us that are old enough to have been doing the fitness thing for more than a decade or two. We've watched the fads and

weirdly constructed contraptions and nouveau equipment trends vying for our dollars come and go. We've seen the ads making exceedingly hyperbolic promises of superior health, wellness and fitness results testified to by pictures of chemically enhanced athletes that over the counter products will never reproduce. WE HEAR ALL OF THAT NOISE. Sadly, it's not just some product companies that are peddling fitness and wellness snake oil. Sometimes it's trainers, teachers, instructors and fitness pros.
What I find most unfortunate is that whether through ignorance or outright deception, it is the reputation of the genuine personal trainer or the actually effective supplement provider or brand that is being tarnished. As a fighter I was trained to find and exploit an opponent's weaknesses. That's the job. Getting kicked in the head is an acceptable risk when you're looking for a fight, but not when you're just looking for a little help.
When honest, hardworking, hopeful individuals looking to do all they can to legitimately enhance their chances to succeed at reaching their fitness goals get misled or ill served, it's a shame. They deserve better. We deserve better and Columbus Fit is here to do our part to see to it that we connect the people in our city with the health, wellness and fitness goods, venues and services they deserve. So, this issue we're getting real, and you're gonna thank us for it when our writers clear up a few "misconceptions" about what really works.
"Trust, but verify" might be a good motto for politics, but when it comes to saving time and money on your fitness journey, switch up the proverb. Talk to others that use the product you're considering, watch that trainer work with a client or get a few free sessions or a free week membership to see if they feel right for you. Make them earn your trust, and when they do, verify it to someone looking for a good deal, a good gym, product or trainer
Best of success,
