A bridge from before birth to beyond Our partnership with UCHealth and the University of Colorado School of Medicine enables us to provide a full range of obstetric and maternal medicine expertise necessary to treat any complication a high-risk mother might face during her pregnancy. It also ensures robust research programs in neonatology and maternal fetal care, with dozens of active studies and access to the latest available treatments. And our joint location on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo., means face-to- face collaboration is literally just a short walk away. Planning ahead Many expecting moms have a birth plan detailing every aspect of their baby’s birth, from delivery options to pacifiers to pictures. For babies with a condition diagnosed prior to delivery, that planning process can be a bit more complicated — but it’s just as important, if not more so. Here, our neonatology experts have developed the Infant Action Plan, helping expectant mothers to prepare for the care their baby will need after delivery. This tool aligns everyone involved in the baby’s care, from primary care providers to obstetricians to other hospitals, to deliver the best possible opportunity for a healthy, happy life. The transition to life outside the womb is a crucial time for mother and baby alike. That’s why expecting moms and babies need the best possible care before, during and after birth. The Infant Action Plan makes sure it happens — even when the unexpected occurs. Giving thanks for giving Philanthropy makes a difference every day at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
