Fetal cardiology
Our Fetal Cardiology Program offers comprehensive care for congenital defects and other abnormalities affecting the
cardiovascular system, both in utero and after birth. Via Telemedicine and our Fetal Echo Preceptorship Program, we
work with regional centers to deliver cutting-edge care to families from many miles away, allowing patients to stay close
to home throughout their pregnancy.

HLHS Mayo Consortium
We’re one of only eight centers in the country participating in Mayo Clinic’s Hypoplastic Left Heart Consortium, which
allows pregnant women with a prenatal diagnosis to participate in groundbreaking clinical trials studying the use of stem
cell therapy. This multifaceted research approach includes imaging and outcomes, human genetics and regenerative
medicine, along with a collaboration that facilitates ideation and cross-pollination between researchers from all over the
country, decreasing the time from research and discovery to clinical application. Best of all, our multi-site design allows
families from all over the country to participate, no matter where they live.
• 18 Children’s Colorado patients enrolled since 2018
• 5 babies had stem cells injected during their second HLHS surgery
