Colonial Springs Reflections January 2019 | Page 2

Thank you… We would like to personally thank everyone who helped make this past Christmas season a very enjoyable one for all of our residents, especially the staff, families, churches and voluntary organizations who donated presents to our facility. We are very fortunate to have such giving people in our community. We are very grateful for what you have done. The residents really appreciate your support. Thanks again—Patrice and Lisa It’s Winter Week Let the snow fly—we don’t care because we will be having It’s Winter Week January 14 - 18. All week long our activities will revolve around winter and snow. We will be visiting the North Pole, create a wintry dish, have a winter tea party, make a snowman light, make our own everlasting snowflake and toss a few snowballs. You never know what kind of trouble we can find on those cold, wintry January days. Come on out and join in on the fun. Watch the daily Chatter Box for an updated schedule of our It’s Winter Week. It’s All About the Men… Bubbly Week… Since January starts the new year off right with some bubbly Champaign, we thought we would extend the celebration with a week of bubbles. Do you remember when you took that first sip of anything with carbonation, how it gave you that funny feeling in your mouth and stomach? That’s what each year brings to us...it is a new year with new unknown experiences that will occur. So let’s sit back and have some fun as we make bubbles, pop bubbles, make not so tiny bubbles, talk about and make items that involves bubbles and much more. Happy New Year to all of you and we hope 2019 is the best one ever. (above) - Birthdays are a very important part of our activity programming. Willa, Marietta and Opal open gifts provided by First Baptist Church in Urbana. (above) - Herman helped make a few items for our annual Gift Giving Craft Show. We made over $300 for our resident’s activity fund. Thank you all who helped make this possible So many of our activities are geared to both sexes, but this week we are our guys. Yes gentlemen, the week of January 21 is all about you! Since football dominates the television in January we will be doing some football activities, some woodwork- ing activities, playing some cards, discussing hobbies and we might even venture into some car races. Check out the calendar and see what’s happening! (left) - Virginia claps her hands to the music of Tim Mott who enter- tained our ladies and gentlemen over the holidays.
