Page 10 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT - ERA By Lady Spitfire (Cont.) Q) Tell me the funniest, wackiest thing to ever happen to you during a gig? A) Hahah okay. Well, during the infamous “bath salts” epidemic last year, we came face to face with this guy who had taken some. We were all fortunate enough to not have our faces eaten off. This guy was laying half on the stage, on his back, looking up at us with this crazed look on his face and mouthing something to us. We were just into our second song of the set and this dude was going crazy. He got off the stage and just stared at each of us, then started running around the crowd like a maniac, trying to avoid security. We all just looked at one another and laughed. It was definitely interesting, and something that’ll stick with us hahah. Q) Who are your musical influences? A) There are far too many to list. We’re music fans first and foremost so it’s a pretty broad array as well. A few examples though would be Megadeth, Pantera, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Led Zep- pelin…any of the staples of the rock and metal genre. Q) What inspires you to do what you do? A) Music at this point has pretty much become not only what we do, but who we are, and it’s hard to picture that not being a part of our lives. Also, the power that music has, especially metal music, to help lift you up and get oneself through hard times. We’ve all had music there to help us during dark times, and it’s been great to hear from fans that our music has done that for them as well. Q) Is there anything else you wanted to add that I didn’t mention … What’s in store for the future? A) We are currently looking forward to bangin’ out a few killer shows this summer, first up play- ing at one of our favourite local venues The Lost Horizon with Devil You Know and Butcher Ba- bies when they come through town. We are also preparing to enter the studio to cut a follow up to our SAMMY (Syracuse Area Music Award) winning record, ‘The Beyond Killer,’ which we re- leased last year. We’ve got some new material that we’re excited about and itching to release later this year. Q) Where can people find your stuff? A) People can find our stuff on Facebook www.facebook.com/erarockband, On Twit- ter www.twitter.com/ERAbrandmetal, And Reverbnation www.reverbnation.com/erarockband
