Something magical happens when the
familiar is skillfully transformed, which
makes Rick Beck something of a magician.
Beck takes the human form and casts it in
glass, making it translucent. Similar to a
magician, he makes us look closely at what
we thought we saw, only to see something
different than expected, and become
