UNFORGETTABLE FUNDRAISERS
TOM HICKMAN
In August 2017 Tom attempted to run the first solo run across Bali: 84km
overnight coast-to-coast! Tom’s run was motivated by a desire to raise
funds for primary school scholarships for disadvantaged kids in the north of
Bali. Tom raised $10,000 to fund 10 children through 6 years of primary
school and he committed to recruiting a team of runners to run again in
2018. This commitment became the Bali Hope Ultra Marathon and in May
2018 thirteen passionate runners came together to run across the island
and raise over $80,000 for children’s education in Bali.
Your devotion inspires us, Tom. Well done!
PHOTO DESCRIPTIONS:
ABOVE: Half way through his run, Tom
stopped for a massage and took off his
shoes. During this time a dog stole one of
his shoes, forcing him to carry on with a
borrowed shoe a few sizes too small. Tom
ran much of his marathon barefoot!
