They recorded a six song EP the “Mighty Road Songs” in 2013 to celebrate their continuing participation in the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. That fell right on the heels of their 2012 album “Chance and Circumstance” (Moon Caravan Records). Both releases achieved national radio play at AAA in the US (charting on Roots Music Radio Folk/Roots chart) and on charting stations in France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, The U.K. and The Netherlands. The band originally formed in NYC around the songwriting, singing and acoustic guitar of Englishman SD Ineson, keyboardist Lee Kirby and singer/multi-instrumentalist Joyce Bowden but moved to North Carolina when they were signed to indy label MoodFood, (which had released the debut album by Ryan Adams’ Whiskeytown, one of the originators of the “alt.country” genre). They opened for 10,000 Maniacs at the Lowell MA Summer Music Series for the 50th anniversary of Jack Kerouac’s book “On the Road” and Shakori Hills Festival alongside band such as Carolina Chocolate Drops. To support radio play the band had been touring the East Coast and Mid-West playing an endless list of live radio sessions. Now they have been back in North Carolina for a little while and in between shows have been working on their new album, “TUPELO” which will come out this spring. 79
